Swimming Lessons at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex

Lagan Valley LeisurePlex offers council-run swimming lessons for everyone from babies to adults, helping swimmers of all abilities gain confidence in the water, master essential skills and progress at their own pace.

Whether taking those first splashes or moving on to advanced programmes such as lifesaving, each course is designed to support enjoyment, development and achievement at every stage of the swimming journey.

The Swim Programme includes the below:

  • Baby Bubbles – WAITING LIST OPEN
  • Ducklings – 3 and 4 years olds - WAITING LIST OPEN
  • Mixed Ability – 5+ years.  WAITING LIST CLOSED
  • Kingfishers – must be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres-  WAITING LIST OPEN
  • Rookie Lifeguard – 8+ years, must be able to swim 50 metres and be water confident.
  • Bronze Medallion – 12+ years, must be able to swim 100m front crawl and breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes and be able to swim without goggles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the temperature of the 25m pool? The 25m pool is kept at a temperate of 29.5°C. 
  • Are you allowed to use the Leisure Pool or 25M Pool if you have a cast on your arm or wrist? No, the general advice for people wearing casts would be to avoid swimming altogether and other activities that would cause the cast to get wet. 
  • Can I use the Leisure Pool during my 25m pool swim? No, these are seperate sessions. 
  • Do you sell armbands, swimming costumes, goggles etc?

    We have a variety of items on sale at our reception: armbands, swimming costumes/ trunks, swim vests and swim nappies. Please note, there is no refunds on swim wear.
